How much space to leave around furniture, room by room
The clearances that decide whether a room works: in front of a dresser, beside a bed, behind a dining chair and along a hallway.

Furniture for every room
Pick the room first and the piece second. Every chair, dresser and vanity here carries its width, depth and height, so you can hold a tape measure to the wall before you fall for a color.

Shop by room
Start where the piece will stand. Each room collects what goes in it, from the chair by the window to the cabinet behind the door.
Signature collections
Four designs sold in the widest run of colors and sizes, the ones that anchor a room and repeat from one home to the next.
Most rated
Listed by how many people have rated the design, which says more about a chair you will sit in daily than a photo does.

The vanity corner
Light where your face is, drawers where your hands go, a mirror that slides or flips out of the way. Measure the gap between the bed and the wall first: most of these fit in less than a yard of it.
10 vanities from $79.99, with 7 finishes between them.

The photo sells the color. The tape measure decides whether it goes through the door and fits the wall. Take these six first.
Measure the stretch of wall the piece will stand against, then take off a hand width at each end for a baseboard and a light switch.
Your stairs, hallway and bedroom door decide more deliveries than the room does. The narrowest opening has to beat the depth of the box.
Leave about 30 inches in front of a dresser so a drawer opens with you standing at it, and about 36 where people walk past.
A seat height near 18 inches suits a dining table and most desks. Lower and deeper reads as lounge. You will feel it after an hour.
Check the window sill, the wall shelf and the ceiling slope over the spot. A tall cabinet under a slope is a return waiting to happen.
Hold a photo of the piece against the floor and the frame you already own. Walnut, natural oak and white read very differently at dusk.
About Karl Home
Our furniture is sized for rented bedrooms, first apartments, a hallway that has to hold six pairs of shoes and a bathroom with no closet. That is why one dresser design comes in more than one drawer count, and why most of our chairs come in five or six colors.
The people at Karl Home have been furnishing homes since 2019, and you can hold every piece against your own room before it arrives: the measurements and a photograph of each color sit on its page.
By piece
The designs people search for by name, each on a page of its own with every size and color side by side.
The widest run of colors in the collection: mid-century lounge frames with wooden arms, swivel barrel chairs and reading chairs with a lumbar pillow, in corduroy, chenille and linen, most of them in five colors or more.

Questions
The questions that come up before an order. The Karl Home collection is listed with the measurements that answer most of them.
Start with a room
Every piece here is listed with the space it takes and the colors it comes in. The Karl Home way starts with the room, not the photograph.
